The ad-blocker is built into some routers, gateways, or mesh systems.
I have a feeling that is not the issue. I have no add blockers on anything and my TV's are hard wired to my Planet Networks fiber router/modem via ethernet cables. There are no add blockers on that. When my problem started it was working fine and 30 minutes later it was not. No changes or updates happened. Also I have quite a few paid apps in my smart TV section and Paramount+ was the only one not loading. I tried all the others and they all opened up just like they always do. The fix that worked for me, and I'm not positive it wasn't just a coincidence, was to unplug the TV from the power source for 5 minutes. Plug it back in and let the TV reset completely. Before that the Paramount+ technician tried a few things on their end that didn't work. They seemed mystified that others were having the same issue as me at the exact same time. When I was talking to them I was on this site as well.
The ad blocker is built into your home internet service - if your tv is on that service, that will block paramount+ according to Roku’s website.
Paramount+ on my TCL TV with Roku loads the main screens but when I click on something to view it, I just get the blue rotating circle. This has just started happening over the last 4-5 days. I know it can’t be related to my Internet because I have the standalone Roku attached to one of my other televisions and Paramount+ loads fine.
everything else assumes that it’s other things, but since it’s only the TCL TVs with the Roku installed happening to, I think it must be something related to the app on those TVs any help?
Planet Networks does not have ad blocker built in. They do have some internet security provided but that can't be turned on or off by the customer. Either way they have told me they made no changes to the network so if Paramount+ was previously working with the fiber optic internet service (and it did) there is no reason on their end it shouldn't work now. Also If it was some sort of blocker is Paramount+ such a unique system that it only blocks them? Peacock, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Brit box, Acorn, Apple TV, Max, were not effected at all. They all loaded as usual and played content normally. ONLY Paramount+ wouldn't load. Thinking it's some issue outside of the Paramount+ program is not going to fix the issue. They need to contact some of the other networks and find out why theirs works and Paramount's doesn't and make the changes necessary to work on all the major smart TV platforms.
My issue was fixed by removing ad blockers from my internet router.
It worked. Thanks
I wonder why Hulu with ads still works!
Different ad server.
Was it working at all before you removed the ad blockers? Mine was working fine for months then all the sudden stopped with no changes on my end
