Re: Harmony remote does not work over IP control

Jump to solution

Lifesaver! Thank you. Last weekend, I added a new receiver to my home theater system with Roku Streaming Stick 4K plugged into HDMI on the back. My Harmony Elite was able to control it for a few days and then suddenly, not. I kept asking myself what I could have done to mess things up and then I thought to myself, what if by coincidence, Roku or Logitech made some software update that changed things? Luckily and happily I found this thread. I just sent the Mobile Apps to "Enabled" and the Harmony is now controlling the Roku again. Feeling true "Harmony" again! Thank you!!!!

@Macspidieand @Johncop64 , try setting Network access under Settings->System->Advanced system settings->Control by mobile apps to Enabled or Permissive.

Re: Roku 14.1.4:7708 Update and Harmony Hub

Jump to solution

I’m having the same issue with the channel icons showing up as numbers. I’ve tried deleting the Roku stick and the corresponding Watch Roku activity per this post a few times with no luck. Bonus glitch — adding the activity back after a few attempts now creates a “Watch Roku 2” activity and when I attempt to edit to remove the “2” the Harmony app tells me that the activity already exists but it’s not listed. I’m going to start checking the Harmony forums now for this one.

This fix worked for me on my 3 Roku Ultras when I received the 14.1.4:7709 update. Perhaps it just skipped the 7708 update in my case.

Re: Latest software update broke using LG TV remote on Roku streaming 4k stick

Jump to solution
Solved Roku ss (+) 4k can be control by LG remote universal set control by mobile set to permissive

This has worked for two years of my LG OLED C1 55 inch and it stop working on the update from Roku on 1/8/2025 and Roku say it does not work but it does in fact work and good thing because I rather use the apps of the TV than two remotes!

On the LG OLED TV the Roku only works in HDMI port two that is an (e)ARC port for certain it may work on other ports once you fix the Roku setting problem. Use the ARC port for now and the set the universal setting for HDMI port two an OTT device and Roku device. Then why it stopped working on the Roku stick go to settings/system/ advanced system settings/ controlled by mobile apps network set to permissive and then power off and on the Roku to change the setting and then it will work again!

I tried what renojim recommended and it worked for me.  I had to select Permissive.

On the lg remote a cursor shows up normally. As soon as you go to roku. The cursor disappears and will not work on remote.  Strange thing- it worked for several months. I think there was an update
