Thanks for the post.

We recommend rebooting both your wireless router and your Roku device.

I'd also recommend trying to connect your device to an alternate network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you can retrieve an activation code. Then once your device has been activated and setup, try switching back to your home wireless network.

Danny can you explain the Roku process works in sending a link code?Perhaps explaining this will assist the folk in solving their problem.

We have been trying for 2 days to get the activation code- done the hard reset. During the initial setup the code DOES NOT APPEAR. Pressing the * DOES NOT WORK. I'm ready to return the Roku Premiere unless we can get some decent support. The suggestions on this thread DO NOT WORK. Are all these Roku devices defective?

When I set up a new Roku yesterday, I had no trouble.

Try the hard reset, ensuring you hold the reset button down for 30 seconds. Not for about 30 seconds. Not for "it seemed like 30 seconds." Hold it for 30 seconds. (Sorry, but you may be surprised how many people don't think "hold for 30 seconds" actually means that.)

Yes, we did this and started the setup procedure from scratch. Unfortunately still no joy. Thanks anyway. Maybe if I  exchanged it and try with a new one.
