I wanted to setup my cable box to Roku. I believe there was a question regarding is HDMI used and I said no, but thinking I should have said yes. When I click on Cable Box I get “No signal (is it on?) message. It is on. How can I get my cable box to work?
Thanks for the post.
Can you please clarify the issue you are experiencing? Do you have a Roku device or a Roku TV?
If you have a Roku device, you will not be able to connect your cable box directly to the Roku device. If you have a Roku TV, you should be able to simply plug in the cable box directly into your HDMI port and it should be working if you are selecting the appropriate HDMI input on the Home screen.
Please keep us posted.
Thanks,
Danny

Yes, not understanding the problem. To my knowledge cable boxes do not have inputs, although I certainly don't know much about them. Every one I've ever seen is output only. And as Danny mentioned, Roku players are also output only. You have to connect the Roku directly to the TV, or to an AVR with HDMI in/out ports.
Now if your cable box does have an HDMI passthrough function, there should be something within the cable box menus for its settings.
