Hardly any channels work in UAE. Even Amazon Prime which works on other devices does not work on Roku.
Only useful apps are Netflix and Youtube. They should have mentioned this clearly rather than a fine print saying "Channel availability/access on Roku devices will vary from region to region"
So if you are in UAE (and maybe other countries also) becareful when buying Roku devices.
Here's an idea for how to preview the choices in your location.
Go to: https://channelstore.roku.com/browse
Go down to the lower right corner (way down at the bottom of the page) and make sure your country is currently selected. If your country isn't an option (such as the UAE) then selections might be slim and you will probably be on your own. Perhaps an AV forum within your country can give tips.
