I lost my remote over a month ago and I have been using my phone app to control it. But today it randomly said not connected and I tried to reset it and it reset all the way back to the beginning. Where its asking for language preference and to pair my remote control with a pic of the one that came with it. It will not allow me to use my app remote to bypass this any suggestions on how to bypass
@Bnikki- The Roku app on a phone or tablet can only connect to a Roku that is ALREADY set up on the same local network the mobile device is using. Since you have done a factory reset, all the connection info has been wiped off your Roku. This means the mobile device's Roku app cannot be used to set up your Roku device.
You'll need to have a remote compatible with your Roku to set up your Roku -- there is no work around.. Which type of remote you need depends on which model of Roku you have.
If you post back with your Roku model someone will be able to advise you on a suitable remote.
