I have a Roku Ultra 2017. (The reason I haven't updated the hardware is that the sound modes behave too differently on the Roku Ultra 2022 and don't work properly with my sound bar + subwoofer.)
I have always run manual updates every day. It's just a habit, and I like being able to see which channels are updating. On the Roku Ultra 2017, channel updates work like they do on an iPhone, in that the channels are all stored locally and they update when you run an update (if there are any updates).
I have 149 channels. There have *always* been updates on more than one day a week between Monday - Thursday (and occasionally between Friday - Sunday) . It's not unusual to get daily updates. It's been this way since 2017.
But, since at *least* July 19, channel updates have stopped. I have received only *two* channel updates since that time: ESPN, and NASA. That's it. Those two only updated once.
That has *never* happened before. So I feel something is wrong.
Is this correct behavior?
- Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version
Device Model: 4660X - Roku Ultra
Serial Number: YJ00A4777475
Device ID: CK386A777475
Software OS/Version: 13.1.4 Build 1512-46
GC Version: 11.11.16
- Does this issue occur on a specific channel? If so, what channel and what version/build is the channel
No, this is a system problem. Running a manual update no longer updates any channels, since at least July 19.
- Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times and provide us with this ID)
75-314-980 (Timestamp: 2024-08-06T17:40:19Z)
- Steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
On a Roku Ultra 2017 with the most popular channels installed, run Settings -> System -> Software update -> Check now. On my end, no channels have updated since at least July 19. (Except for the two exceptions of ESPN and NASA each updating once.) If able, check unit update history.
