I've tried to post this reply on many of your guys posts but that seems like it'll be endless because Roku has known about this bug for years and refuses to fix it. So I'll post it here and hopefully anybody who searches screen mirror this will pop up. Shame on roku.
Don't even bother asking here. They will never tell you the truth which is that..
Screen mirroring no longer works with ANY roku TV.
The ONLY way to do it is to go into advanced settings and literally RESET THE NETWORK. And it'll turn your tv off and on. Do NOT put your wifi back on when the tv comes back on. The only way to screen mirror now is to do it without the wifi. And i don't mean just disconnect the tv from wifi. That won't work either. It only works when you reset the network and stay offline.
Idk what kind of bug this is or why they haven't fixed it. We got a samsung tv and surprise surprise, my phone screen shares just fine! And it's not just my android phone. It was an iphone. A motorola razr phone. A brand new samsung tablet. Laptops etc. And it's not my certain TV either. Cause we have two completely different brands of TV's. They just both happen to be Roku. Roku is more than aware of this They just don't care.
I was having the same issue with my onn roku tv, found a option "fast tv start" was off turned that to on and rebooted the tv and to my surprise I can now cast to it. Hope this helps
Lo hice como mencionas y si funcionó, hay demasiado retraso pero funciona, pensaba que era un problema de TV, gracias por la ayuda
Firstly, i wanted to say that is a shame a problem like this happen with that frequency. The final customer shouldnt have to spend his time looking for a "videogame cheatcode" solution for a spaghetti code like this RokuTV **bleep**ty thing.
The final solution to me was:
- 2.4/5g wifi network connected
- Verify Network (Settings>Network)
- Screen Mirroring Mode "Aways allowed" (Settings>System>Screen Mirroring>Screen Mirroring Mode)
- TV Fast Start "On" (Settings>System>Energy>Fast Start)
- Device Connection "ON" (Settings>System>Advanced Settings>Device Connection)
- Device App Control "ON" (Settings>System>Advanced Settings>Device APP Control)
- Keep the TV off from power grid
IDK how constant this solution is for other devices, but i hope that work in your tv
I'm not sure if you've moved to a new brand by now, but I did a ton of digging and found that if you switch the Roku TVs wifi specifically to your 2.4 GHz wifi signal, you can be connected to wifi and be able to mirror your screen. This will work if your phone is even on the 5GHz frequency. Means that 5GHz on Roku is just incompatible with mirroring. Odd bug.
Roku can't do screen mirroring so I took my unit back for refund. Screen mirroring canbe done with other devices such as gooogle chrome, however, google chrome casting will stop work in 1 or 2 years, they stop gen 1 and gen 2 may work, not certain but at any rate you will need to replace google casting device every 1 or 2 years,
You're right, I run eeros I temporarily disabled 5ghz and the roku worked with dex and screen mirror. I will add i have 3 rokus. One is the roku ultra this always works always has on Either 2.4 or 5.
The new roku brand tv and the roku express don't on the 5ghz.
Update this roku, please
This bug is super annoying. Roku, please get it fixed.

Let’s try a few things to see if we can fix it:
After that, just restart your router or modem. Once it’s back up, try reconnecting your device and see if screen mirroring starts working!
