Can't Update Try Again Later Error 4

Roku starts, then I get a message saying Update available with only OK as a button option.

It goes to 100% and then I can "Can't Update Try Again Later Error 4"

Then there is a blank home screen and I have to unplug it and plug it back in.

Happens repeatedly.

I do have an older Roku model.

Re: Can't Update Try Again Later Error 4

That sounds really frustrating, especially with an older Roku model. Error 4 usually means there’s some kind of issue with the connection during the update process. A few things you could try: make sure your Roku is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. If you can, try switching to a different network just to see if that helps. Also, restarting your router can sometimes resolve these kinds of problems.

Another thing to try is manually checking for updates by going to Settings > System > System Update. If that doesn’t work, a factory reset might be your last resort, but keep in mind that you’ll have to set everything up again from scratch.

If none of this works, it could be that your device is no longer supported for updates, as older models sometimes lose compatibility. Hopefully, one of these fixes works for you!
