Tv guide goes to recents when opening channel guide

How many people are on this team?  How motivated to get his fixed?

Remember, for every 1 person that formally complains to you, there are thousands who dop not complain to you but still are mad and inconvenienced, then bad mouth your company and wont make future purchases of your products.

Roku, thank you for FINALLY fixing this issue!! Pleeeaaasssseee from now on DO NOT try to fix something that isn't broke!!!

Absolutely unbelievable; _every single_ comment in response to the issue in multiple threads was either laying out that recent Live Channel Guide was a problem; earnestly trying to help fix it; or hopping mad-pissed off--with some users asking _on this platform_ for advice on alternatives to Roku devices/systems on the market. 

Unless user options are an inherent part of this possible change, and the former, just now apparently fixed mode of operation is the default, that would be high among the biggest, most deliberately self-injurious market share loser decisions Roku could possibly make.

(Actually, phone customer service had intimated that the recent Guide nightmare was a test when I called to trouble shoot the issue 3 weeks ago. I just didn't believe them, as that being a deliberate choice for Roku just sounded so inane and incomprehensible.)

Worst feeble brain fart _ever_. Get a real job suited to your level of misqualification, oh "self-declared genius" product development team. But pls don't impose your half-baked "tests" on real live paying customers. 

If our patience and understanding was appreciated, you people would fix this bone headed mistake that occurred with your update and stop asking us to waste more of our time dealing with the aftermath of this stupidity by mindlessly looking up the deets on our devices. Your brain trust apparently tried to fix something that was not broken and its come back to bite us all on the backside. Please fix this. It has been an entire week of unnecessary annoyance, frustration and waste of your customers time.

RokuTakashi Can we get an update from Roku on this matter?  Are we still working on it?  I've seen suggestions on this thread about doing a factory reset; but I really don't want to do that - unless explicitly indicated by Roku as the only way to resolve the issue.  I had a fleeting moment of hope today when I went to check for an update and saw a message "releasing Gravity Locks" along with a Spotify update; thinking "Gravity Locks" might be a patch or something related to our issue. No dice - while watching Live TV, when I left-arrow to see the guide, it's still going to "Recents".  Please let us know something.  Thanks.

Leave the program guide alone. don’t touch it, don’t ‘fix it’ don’t test anything. I think 3 weeks worth of irate, frustrated, angry comments is all the feedback you need.

As far as addressing this in a prompt manner, it's way too late for prompt actions.

RokuTakashi  well, I had just replied a few moments ago that my Guide was finally back to normal with all channels visible & remembering where I was.  Only there was No Information on on my over-the-air channels. THE FIX ONLY LASTED 5 MINUTES !!  Now it defaults to "Recent" again.  Aaaaarrrgh !!!  

JC55 I think you meant to reply to a moderator, not me ! Im just another very annoyed Roku user.  It suddenly appeared ok for me eith all channels about half hour ago, but that disappeared & it went back to the **bleep**  "Recents" within 5 minutes. 😞

... I also have a tv that had not been used in a few weeks and it seemed fine for a few minutes after turning on but reverted as well.

Thanks for being a part of this group of concerned users. Hopeully they actually have an experienced coder who can fix this soon.

Resubmitting my info.  It has been a week & issue is still not fixed. I want to access "All Channels" & stay there. NOT spend 15 minutes or more tryng to get back to the program guide and ending up backm at "recent" EVERY TIME.  Ive done all the troubleshooting numerous times.  It doesnt work Here it is.  Device TCL Roku Tv. Model: 43S455.  Serial # XO1200LUTDNN. Device ID# SOJNH27UTDNN.  Software OS: 12.0.0 build 4190-CG.  But the problem is not unique to me.  Its EVERY ROKU USER. 

Last night mine even got worse.  When watching programs last night, the titles did not change from the programs I had been watching the night before.... even though the programs were different.  For instance the title from the movie the night before was listed for the different movie I was currently watching.

I am a little surprised that a legal person in this group hasn't solicited a class action suit to get refunds and new TV's for everyone.

That happens to me every morning.
I come out to the living room turn the TV (TCL/Roku) on and go to the "Live TV" guide and it will be showing times and shows from 24 hours earlier ....???
After I do a power/restart, it goes back to the current time.
I have to do this restart ritual EVERY morning.

So you get to call it "solved" after it remained screwed up for TWO WEEKS? And now we know to wait for the next screwup? Amazing...

Yes, thank you for reverting to how it was.   if it ain’t broke…there’s nothing to fix, please leave it alone. 

Be careful or you could find yourselves with the same 'egg on your face' as Microsoft had back in the early 90's.  This was epitomized by the joke:

DITTO here.  I put a lot of stations in my favorites folder last night and it helps a little with finding a station, but it is still a PITA because it defaults to recent folder. 

Class action suit?

I almost feel like making a youtube video physically showing them what is wrong and posting the link on here for them so they can go watch it.

I guess a lot of folks don't use the "Live TV" feature/guide.
It used to be pretty **bleep** but now they show some pretty decent reruns and WB loaded it up with a bunch of shows too.
Here's another PITA Roku situation they should work on.... add a OTA or Antenna category where the favorites, crime, movies, etc... categories are.
They keep the ota/antenna and stream channels separate on the guide, yet there's no category for ota/antenna ...??
To get to my OTA stations I keep one kid/family channel on the guide, I go to kid/family in category section, hit right to go to the one channel I have open and hit down and I'm at the top of my antenna channel guide.
Here I thought Roku would have their act together when I decided to switch to streaming from DTV ...???

This awful and I hate it! At least give the option to opt out

This has not been solved. As of the Dec 20245 update, the "most recent channels" is just at the top of "all channels" and adds more clicks and friction to use "all channels". Please add a setting to disable the "most recent channels" from even being displayed.
