I just purchased a Roku 55r6a5r and I am having the same problem with the same troubleshooting steps. The audio DOES work through the optical but of course NO volume control. On my old Roku TV I could add control to another audio device but Roku seems to have dropped ALL support for non-Roku devices - bad move Roku! I have Vizio soundbar with ZERO interaction on the Roku TV but I can hook it up to my LG TV and the Soundbar works great through HDMI. Come on Roku - cut this out and get your HDMI interface FIXED!! #Roku

The issue is that I have followed the steps for a Roku TV and when you hit the section on ARC it doesn’t appear in the menu.
