Roku TV has no Major Streaming Apps

Jump to solution

I just bought a new Roku TV, Model: 55R6A5R. On the box it shows pictures of streaming apps like Disney+, Prime Video, Hulu, and HBO Max. The remote has a button for Paramount+ and for HBO. The tv has none of those apps, it only has Netflix. Netflix is the only major streaming app available for me to purchase/download from the store, none of the other streaming services listed above were even listed on the Channel Store, just a ton of other smaller apps I don’t care for How do I find those other apps? My tv is up to date (12.5.5) and I tried to restart the tv as well.

I figured it out. I am located in the US, and I bought my tv in the US. When I originally made my account with Roku a few years ago, I was spending sometime in Europe. I had to create a new Roku account here in the states and it then allowed me access to everything. Weird that it was basing it on where I made my account. They should have been able to tell by my time zone or IP address or something that I am in the US.

Where are you located?  Not all apps are supported in all regions/countries.  A Roku account that's associated with the wrong region can also cause problems as can anything like a VPN that masks your true location.
