Hello,
I have been having a periodic issue with my Roku Plus 55 inch QLED TV that is perplexing. While viewing content from pretty much any app on the tv, occasional graphic glitches occur on the left side of the screen. These small glitches typically look like a single rectangular black box. Sometimes, these glitches occur only once or twice every 20-30 minutes while viewing content, sometimes they occur more frequently. They can occur on a menu or when an app is loading as well. Interestingly, they occur more on “higher quality” content. For example, they never occur on commercials.
This is my third Roku Plus 55 inch tv. My first one had a few deal pixels, so I returned it to the store. My second one had this similar issue. I had that one replaced in March. This one started off fine and then started displaying these graphic glitches after two months or so.
I have reset the tv to the default settings and I still get these glitches. My one wondering is if it is related at all to my internet and the tv being mounted on the wall. The tv says it is getting excellent signal from the WiFi menu. However, my access point is two floors above (the tv is in the basement). The tv is connected to the 5ghz WiFi 6 band. Other devices connect fine with plenty of bandwidth (iPhone, Mac, etc) in my basement. I was thinking of trying a WiFi 6 mesh extender (I have a TP link AX21 as my only router). Would using the Ethernet port be a potential fix?
Roku support did offer to start the replacement tv process again. However, since my second and third televisions both had this issue, I am beginning to wonder if there is something else going on (either software or WiFi). I don’t want to just keep getting replacement tvs with the same (or worse) issues.
If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!
