I recently upgraded my TV to a TCL Roku series-5 65". I have a Yamaha RX-V379 receiver plugged into it via eARC. That seems configured correctly as it will automatically turn on when I turn on the TV with the Roku remote.
One weird behavior is when I got into a Roku channel like Youtube, Dolby, etc. I hear no sound from my receiver. After some experimentation I found I can get sound by switching the receiver "scene" from "TV" to something else (ex. "BD/DVD") and then back. After the switch sound starts working as expected. It's not a huge problem, but it's a little obnoxious and I don't remember having to do this on my old television's apps.
Is there something I can do so I don't need to toggle the TV mode on my receiver off and on again?
Thanks for the post.
We would be more than happy to look further into this issue, but will need more details. Can you please provide us the following information:
Once we have more information, we will be able to pass it along to the appropriate Roku team to investigate further.
Thanks,
Danny
