Welcome to the Roku Community, @dadderin!

Thank you for reaching out regarding this matter. We'd be more than happy to provide further information and suggest some steps to help you connect your Roku TV to a network connection.

Firstly, how far is your router from your TV? We suggest moving it closer to your Roku TV for stronger signal strength. You may also check your network connection under Settings > Network > Check Network.

We also suggest checking our support article dedicated to this:

I hope you find this information helpful.

Best regards,
Carly

Good luck getting help… I’ve been talking to Roku support for a while now and their only suggestions are blaming your internet service provider or router. I’m pretty positive it’s a glitch with the latest software update. Mine was updated on 6/14 and that’s around when I began experiencing the issue. Out of curiosity what software version does your tv say and when was it updated? Mine is software version 13.0.0 Build 24063

I have the same thing but it started with the OS 13 update. It’s disconnected every time it starts up after being off for a while and gets stuck on the “wireless scan” unless you reset the network or “power -> system restart”

WiFi or even the wired port communication dropping has NOTHING to do with the ISP.  And if your router is working with ALL other devices... the only issue is at the TV/Roku.  We have many TCL Roku TVs throughout our location, we control ALL of them via network control via the documented API... and ALL of our TCL Roku TVs are NOW have issues.  The TVs drop the network connection after power off, and WILL NOT power up via the network connection (WiFi or wired).  We have to send someone around with the IR remote to turn on the TVs.  Once the TVs are power up, we can remotely turn them off, and even on, if we d it within a few minutes of power off.  But once the TVs have been power off for more than a few minutes, THEY NEVER RESPOND AGAIN to any power on command.  This is A SOFTWARE issue, in the code that controls the network connectivity, effectively times out, and drops connection.  We recommend equipment to MANY people given we are a Audio/Visual media group. And all networked TVs have quirks, but these TCL Roku TVs... never recommend these again, until they get their software control working RIGHT AGAIN.

I have the same problem, I have had this TV for 4 years without any issues but since about the last 2-3 weeks the tv will lose connection when it is off/sleeping and require a manual system restart. I tried restarting the router and resetting (reconfiguring) the tv wifi settings and still doesn't work.

Anyone has a fix?

They've acknowledged this in the issue tracking board and have a future update (last notice was 7/18).

They suggested factory reset, but other people said that didn't work so i've been hesitant to do it because i don't want to re-enter all my information:

I'm surprised the mods haven't consolidated these threads underneith that master thread.

we have the same issue on both of our Roku TVs and it started at the same time.

We just unplug and plug the tvs back in and then they are fine.  Hoping for that new update asap as it getting very old having to do this for over a month or two now.
