Hey,
I have a 40 inch onn roku tv that was given to me as a gift for Christmas. So my remote just stopped working all of a sudden. I changed the batteries that wasn’t the problem. So I did a factory reset on my tv thinking that was going to fix it but it didn’t. Since my tv is stuck in the set up mode I can’t use a remote to get through it at all. I purchased a universal remote but it still wouldn’t work. I am lost for options please help
Thanks for the post.
If you need a replacement remote for a Roku TV, you would need to contact your TV manufacturer. You can contact Onn here: http://onntvsupport.com/#product_support-2 or 1-844-334-2355.
You can also purchase a remote that is compatible with your Roku TV here: https://www.roku.com/products/accessories/roku-tv
Thanks,
Danny
This universal remote had Onn Roku tv code in it? Or did just have roku listed and you assume it would work on a roku tv? Which it won't. What is make model of universal remote?
It had ONN listed on it
G E universal remote

Did you ever find the fix? I’m having the same problem.

I think I've seen another thread where it was recommended to factory reset (home>system>advanced system), then the tv will go through the "pairing" with the remote again. It sounded like the tv can lose that pairing. Factory reset will lose your settings, though. You might try Home>settings>remotes&devices and see if you can "setup a new device." I.e., if it recognizes your existing remote.
There could be a better way, but that's what I'd try.
