So I noticed there was a update for my TCL Roku tv. After installing it, the TV rebooted and hung at the red splash screen for about 10 minutes. I unplugged the power and when I turned on the TV again it worked fine but the update did not install so I decided to run the update again and it hung at the red splash screen again. The solution was to clear the cache. Press Home 5 times. Press Up. Press Rewind 2 times. Press Fast Forward 2 times on the remote. After I did this the update installed just fine and took me back to the home screen. I hope this works for you if you're having an issue like I was.
