Does the Roku Soundbar output audio through HDMI to the TV like a normal Roku device?

I would like to use my TV's digital optical output to a digital optical splitter to simultaneously use the Roku Soundbar and my headphones. If it does, would I still need a digital optical cable from the splitter to the Roku? Kind of circular routing here but if it works I'm happy.

I need this for Bluetooth hearing aids. Thanks.

Try adding your BT hearing aids to the device list in Setup. You can connect them directly to your Roku without all thar hassle.

Settings>Remotes & Devices>Wireless headphones>Add new wireless headphones
