Why are old reruns labeled "live"?

Because they are playing from a playlist on a schedule. You may have the option to stream it from the beginning. Then it is not live.

In the streaming world, "live" means you're watching it as it streams in from its source.  You get whatever the source is sending at the time, which may well be an old I Love Lucy from the '50s.

This is opposed to "on demand" where you pick a program and watch it when you want.
