This it STILL NOT FIXED!!!!
Re: muting: It would be good enough for me if the Roku Channel provided a countdown to its commercial break, like I've seen at least one other channel do (might be Tubi; I don't recall). That way, we could at least be ready to mute the volume before the outbursts begin. But in my experience, Roku always led with one of these screaming ads (if they played more than one during the break), and the ads commenced at unexpected spots during the program (not at logical breaks), so we were always caught unawares and scrambling for the mute button on the remote ... and always too late to escape the initial audio onslaught.
Wishing I could say everything I feel. If I could find something I enjoy without ROKU I would leave over this ignorant and iratating commercial. I'm floored ROKU thinks it's a good advertisement because "IT SUCKS!!!"
This wasn't my post, but I did post an objection to these horrendous commercials. They are offensive and can be triggering for many people, and do not create a positive vibe towards Roku at all. If I had seen these before I bought my new Roku TV's, I would not have purchased from a company that thinks this is good advertising. People with PTSD or other Trauma can actually be triggered deeply every time one comes on. I just hate the screaming, so I mute it or turn it off.
As for what channel? YOUR channel (Roku) posts these a lot. But I've seen them on other channels that have ads, as well. So being from Roku, you should be aware YOUR channel is putting this harm out there frequently.
Hope this helps.
These are seen with every show I've watched on the Roku channel. Fire the marketers that thought this would be successful. It's causing people to NOT like Roku.
Amen!!
Yes! If Roku's goal is to get people to choose other leisure activities over watching TV, they are succeeding. I now think twice before turning on the TV to "relax" knowing I will encounter these commercials.
Ridiculous response. They are everywhere. Roku MADE this ad. And it is alienating consumers.
Well, someone should tell Roku is definitely "top of mind"--but not in the way Roku would want. It is "top of mind" on the kind of TV they do NOT want to buy because of these damaging and offensive ads. STUPIDEST MARKETING CAMPAIGN EVER. If these ads aren't stopped, it will take ROKU a long time to come back from this one--if ever. It is creating a very negative response in consumers.
The only possible way is to remediate this situation is to issue a public statement of apology and remove them immediately (showing they are responsive to customers--actually listen to them and create good rapport with them.)
Yep, I'm looking into a fire stick to get away from this company
