I have ROKU in place of cable. I tried getting MSNBC but a provider is required, sadly.  Well, Rachel Maddow, I won't be able to watch any upcoming trials for Voldemort.

You need a provider of some sort.  It doesn't have to be cable.  There are streaming alternatives.  You'll have to do a little research to see what they carry.  This is from last year, but I doubt much has changed.

You need a provider to watch MSNBC but you can listen to the MSNBC audio stream for free on the TuneIN app. If you sometimes have MSNBC on in the background while you are doing other things, this may be a "good enough" solution for those occasions.
