A few days ago, fast forward function changed - much faster now. Fast forward button pushes used to say - 1 =4x, 2=8x, 3=16x and 4 pushes was 32x. Now button pushes give you 1=2x, 2=3x and 3=4x and speed is much quicker now. Very hard to control. Was this a designed change? Is this selectable?
That sounds like an app-specific thing. The default behavior has always only allowed three speeds when fast forwarding or rewinding and it doesn't give you any 2x, 4x, etc. indicators. Some apps override the default behavior with what they think is best.
I have the exact same issue, same timeline. Fast forward’s only speed is super fast! No idea how to solve this. Any help from Roku?
@Mike1397, contact the developer of the app. Check out how FF works in "The Roku Channel". That's the default. Any deviation is something the developer has forced upon its users. Roku can't help.
I called Hulu. This is a known issue, they thought was resolved this morning, but I checked and the problem still exists. So they reoppened the case and hope to resolve shortly. Case number 94807104
Almost glad to hear I'm not alone. Seems like this happened once before and I somehow fixed it. But nothing works this time. Unplugged from the wall, went to settings and reset system (several times), tried using the app on my phone. Nothing helps. So hope it is really solved soon. I did learn to go forward or back with the right or left arrows though.
I tried it on the Roku channel and same thing. Then tried with same results on other services. Then I tried MLBTV and strangely the regular 2,4,8 was there. But not fixed anywhere else.
I just contacted Hulu and they acted like they never heard of this problem. Then I mentioned your post and the case number. Suddenly they acknowledged that "a few of their customers" have reported this issue.
I got the definite impression they are NOT taking it seriously.
I just called Hulu and followed up on this issue. Supposedly they are working on it. I would suggest more people start calling and complaining. Hulu phone number 877-824-4858, case number 94807104.
We have the same problem. To Hulu: THIS IS REAL!
