My big problem here is neither of them seem to have the capability of getting someone internal to look into it. We're directed to contact the companies and when they do they tell us to contact the other one in a circular maddening spiral. There should be someone in either company who could email someone in the other company to give them a heads up about it that would actually have a chance of being seen or acted upon. That would only be if either of these companies took some actual pride in their work or company and wanted to put out a product people want to use. I guess thats just not a priority anymore and the "best practice" is to pay someone to give us canned responses that dont really help anyone and make customers dislike your product. I actually feel bad for the employees because I would bet theyd probably get in trouble if they took some initiative and tried to actually solve it. Probably be written up for not following protocol.
Hi, Community users.
Thanks for keeping us updated in this thread regarding the missing episode 5 of the Earth Abides on MGM+ through The Roku Channel.
Please be informed that we have passed along your information and concern to the appropriate Roku team, who'll further review this issue and correct the missing episodes. As this will be worked on, we'll make sure to provide a resolution in a timely manner.
We'll provide an update on this thread regarding the progress of this matter.
Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated in the meantime.
Thanks,
Roku Community Team.
I was hoping Episode 5 would be corrected and made available to us when Episode 6 released, however, E06 released and is available, yet E05 is still missing. What a peculiar thing to happen! We don't want to watch E06 until we've seen E05.
For those who may be interested: Amazon Prime Video has a limited time offer thru January 2nd to subscribe to MGM+ on their platform for $1.99/month for 2 months. All episodes of Earth Abides are available there. Subscribing directly with MGM+ has a 7-Day free trail for new customers and then the regular price is $6.99/month.
MGM+ also has the holiday offer of $1.99/month for 2 months available at their online website (without a free trial) until 2 JAN.
Still waiting for this issue to be resolved.
If this is a stunt I will not renew on principal
Hear this mgm
12/29, 8:16 eastern time and episode 5 is still missing. Roku, I expect better!
As stated in another thread about this, the agreement that Roku has with MGM to provide MGM content is what controls the content available and when. MGM is passing the buck, as they are the ones that dictate when new content is available on different streaming platforms. Yes, the best way to subscribe to content is directly with the provider, not through a 3rd party. Neither side likes to mention possible limitations like this, but it's almost always done because that's what the provider wants. If Roku didn't accept the MGM terms, then they couldn't offer any content at all from MGM. So it's better to offer most content instead of none.
How do I remove MGM app on Roku channel so I can install MGM app directly through MGM and get their free 7 day trial? Looks like episode 5 missing issue is not going to be fixed. I cancelled MGM through Roku but my subscription lasts for several more weeks.
