When in the ESPN app, when searching the originals, there are plenty of great videos to watch--but there doesn't seem to be any way to select an item to read its description. It just starts playing if you click on a title.
So unless you can figure out based on the title and picture what the video is actually about, I can't figure out a way to actually read what the specific video is. If you hit *, it just pulls up the ESPN settings.
Is this a setting issue? Hulu and Disney, which are part of our same package, don't have this issue. You can select any title and it pulls up whatever it is, gives a description, others like this, trailer, etc. But nothing for ESPN, even for the E60, 30 for 30, etc videos.
Am I doing something wrong or is the ESPN app not capable of describing a video? You also can't pause the video while it's playing to look. There's just nothing there.
It's not readily apparent to most users that each channel provider creates and maintains the specific version of their app that runs on the Roku system. The only channels that Roku maintains are their own The Roku Channel, the Roku Media Player, and several Roku information channels. For everything else, Roku just provides the platform on which they run.
For questions about the content and operation of individual channels you should contact the channel's creators.
