Apple Monitor will it work instead of a TV

I would like to use my apple studio display (monitor) to use instead of my TV. Is this possible the apple monitor does not have an HDMI port.  It has 3 USB-C ports and a Thunderbolt 3 port.  Can this work without the HDMI port?
