Adding SEG+ to Roku Stick

I'm currently trying to add the app SEG+ to my grandma's Roku Stick. I am able to add the channel via https://channelstore.roku.com/ but it isn't adding to the Roku Stick when she turns on the TV. Is this channel only available on certain Roku streaming devices? Is her stick too old? We've tried updating and restarting her stick and it's still not showing up in her Home Screen with the rest of her channels.

  • Roku TVs from 2017 and later (exception: On TVs only from 2022 and later)

If you go Settings/System/About on your Roku device, you can see the model number of the device as well as the Roku OS version installed.

When you added the SEG+ channel from the Streaming Store, are you using the same Roku account (email address).  This is also visible in the above screen (Settings/System/About).  Also, is this a US based Roku account?

Finally, if you use the Search feature from your Roku device (left side menu), does SEG channel/app appear for you there? (normally, if doesn't come up in Search, then not available for the device or region).

EDITED to add... I just tried to install on my device from the online Channel Store and while it did not show up either after installation, I was able to perform a Search for it on my device after I installed from the online Channel Store and it gave me the option to "Open App".  It then launched the Sign In screen.  So try performing the Search for SEG from Home Screen in order to access the app as a workaround. (don't know why the tile is not appearing on Home Screen).

EDITED to further add... Looks like there may be a little bug (or delay) when adding SEG from the online Channel Store.  I had to remove the channel using a hidden menu (since the tile would not appear on screen) and then was able to perform a Search for SEG on the Roku device and add the channel/app from there.  This time the SEG+ tile appeared on Home Screen after installation.

I tried to reinstall again from the online Channel Store and it would not appear on Home Screen.  Thus, make sure to install SEG from your device using the Search feature and not the online Channel Store.

To remove the "invisible" SEG channel (if you installed from online Channel Store), on your Roku remote press Home 3x, Up 2x, then Left, Right, Left, Right, Left.  After the Channel Screen is displayed, scroll down the channels until you see SEG+ and press the OK button.  Select "Remove Channel".  Press Home to exit screen.  Then go to your Home Screen, select Search, and type in SEG.  Then "Add Channel".  You should now see the SEG+ tile on your screen.
