Help & troubleshooting for channels on your Roku device, including adding/removing channels, logging in to, authenticating, or activating a channel, channel-specific playback issues, assistance contacting channel publishers to report issues, and adjusting channel-specific settings.
I've been watching the WGN app periodically to keep up with new & weather in Chicago. Today I clicked on the WGN app to see about the flooding in Chicago. The app says "This app is no longer available". I deleted the App and re-added it. Same thing.
It appears to be available because you can download it, but you can't use it. What happened?
I switched to Haystack TV but only channels 2 & 7 no channel 9. Is there a way to watch WGN?
For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact WGN support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.
You'd have to ask WGN. Roku does not create or support the channels available on their devices, other than The Roku Channel and Roku Media Player.
However, I checked the Channel Store and WGN-TV is shown as an available channel. It's possible that it won't work if you have an older, unsupported model Roku player. What model do you have?
Dan Roku Stick (3600), Ultra (4640), Ultra (4670), Ultra (4800), Premiere (3920), Insignia 720p Roku TV, Sharp 4K Roku TV, Nvidia Shield, Windows 10 Pro x64 running Serviio and Plex on a wired Gigabit network.
