Movieland TV is no more. That's what happens when one adds movies without permission.
I had some problem with Movieland TV, some movies would load, some wouldn't, so I went through the steps to do a manual update with the Roku Ultra (2019). Movies that would not load, now load, now I'm assuming that approach will work for you as well for other streaming services. Now with Movieland TV, I did get kicked out of one movie twice that wouldn't previously load; but, then I went back in, and resumed the movie both times and it picked up where it left out. As for the system update, I'm sure the system actually updated cause it was instantaneous; but, the proof seems to be in my results.
I thought it was just me having bad luck. I contacted Roku thinking that they would be interested in an improperly working channel. Just gave me the standard response of remove, add again, update system, restart, etc. Also, if problem persists to contact the channel? Huh? They don’t, of course, provide me with their contact info. Can’t find any website for this channel. I’m pretty sure they must have contact info if they are carrying the channel. Anyways. my problem is also that a movie won’t load. I would think that Roku would be interested in the quality of their channels insofar as at least being able to get the advertised content but Roku just washes their hands of it.
I WAS ABLE TO INSTALL MOVIELAND TV ON ONE TV BUT NOT ON THE SECOND ONE. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP?
Please update your device with the latest roku software and try again.
Tried Movieland TV , on roku, this service has no closed captions,... Roku should ban it from its being installed on roku players!
You are not required to subscribe to Movieland TV. That aside, the FCC regulation that you quoted does NOT apply to internet-centered websites. If it did most of the videos on YouTube would be banned.
WronG, very wrong, as is a streaming service showing movies that are under law required to have the captions, as shown with action vs Netflix showed, plus also:
"In the past, the FCC only required closed captions for broadcasters. In 2012, the FCC extended these rules to content streaming online.
Now if a program aired on traditional TV with closed captions, streaming services must also offer it with closed captions with a few limitations. These new rules are meant to make streaming more accessible to those with physical disabilities.
There are a few exceptions to this rule. Content that was not aired on TV and created for the Internet are not required to have closed captions."
and:
"
There are a few exceptions to this rule. Content that was not aired on TV and created for the Internet are not required to have closed captions.
The FCC left protections for online videos like home movies and smaller creators creating content exclusively for platforms like YouTube but without the budget for a professional closed caption system."
and:
"
Here is how the FCC describes the new rules:
The Internet closed captioning rules only apply if the video programming was shown on TV in the U.S. with captions.
“Full-length video programming” is video programming that is shown on TV and is distributed to end users, substantially in its entirety, through the Internet."
And:
"Movies shown on the Internet are not required to be captioned unless they have been previously shown on TV with captions.
Even if a program or a provider is exempt under the Commission’s rules, it may still have obligations under other federal laws to make its video programming accessible to individuals with disabilities."
Movieland movies I accessed, were previous ONTV...*WITH CLOSED CAPTIONS*
I know so, I have had closed captions since it first came out and I know what movies were previous ON TV with cations and so YES movieland is in violation where such were shown before on TV with closed captions'.
Thereso, IF a MOVIE was shown on TV previous WITH Closed Captions, it MUST be cloed captioned by any internet streaming service!!
So Yes Movieland TV is violating FCC rules and federal Law
