Google Play Movies--No Closed captions

When playing a Movie from Google Play Movies on my TCL Smart Tv, I do not receive closed captions.

I have the settings on my Roku TV to always show closed captions, but they do not appear on this channel.

Any ideas?

Some channels are not coded by their owners to observe Roku's standard settings.  I don't know why, I assume it's to keep a similar user interface for their service on all devices.

I don't use Google Play movies so I'm not familiar with their interface.  While viewing a movie try the up and down arrow keys to see if they reveal Google's control options.
