Game Icon when making any selection

I'm having a sudden issue on my JVC Roku TV, when any selection is made (even within the settings area) the game controller icon comes up and does not leave the screen. If I select a channel, the channel does not seemingly even try to launch, just the controller icon. However, if I click on one of the quick access buttons on the remote itself (such as Netflix), it works without issue. 

Any ideas? I've tried restarting the tv but it did not help.
