Voice Remote: Turn off auto voice response when touching Volume controls & Power button.

Hubby accidentally hit 1-2 buttons on voice remote, which activated auto voice response when touching volume controls and power button.  He couldn't remember what he did.  Here are the steps I have taken to solve the problem.

I have disabled the smallside switch on the left side of remote.  Under Settings: setting>accessibility>shortcut>disabled

setting>Audio>menu volume>off

setting>Remotes & Devices>remotes>Voice Remote Pro>handsfree volume>off

None of the above steps has stopped the auto response, when pressing volume controls and power buttons on the voice remote. How can I shut off this auto response?

I've had a Voice Remote Pro for nearly two years and have never experienced this.

Roku's "Screen reader" that announces menu options and selections, etc. for the visually impaired doesn't announce TV settings like power, volume or mute.   At least it doesn't for Roku streaming devices that have no such settings -- perhaps it does for Roku TVs?  I don't have a Voice Remote set up for my Roku TV for me to check.  At any rate, you can disable "Screen reader" under Roku menu path Settings > Accessibility.

If you are using a Roku streaming device connected to a non-Roku TV, are you sure this isn't some setting on your TV?

I had already Disabled the Screen reader under Roku menu. I have an LG TV so followed your suggestion of looking at the settings there. I found the TV accessibility setting and turned it OFF. The sound disappeared when I touched the Voice Remote volume controls and power button. Thanks for the suggestion.

Had the same problem...also went to 'accessibility' and turned off the same...and it worked.
