***To the Roku employees following this thread*** Below, I will reiterate the most satisfactory, straightforward solutions to the issue(s) being raised in this thread (and others), for you to - hopefully and please - pass along to the appropriate Roku department/dev team. The following is quite simple and straightforward;
1). When opening the "Live TV" channel guide (left < click), the default behavior should always be to automatically open into whatever channel category was last being watched/used. Period!
If a user was watching a program from the "All Channels" category, then it should open the "All Channels" guide. If they were watching from "Favorites", then it should open the "Favorites" guide. If "Recents", or "Comedy", "Recommended", "Sports", etc... whichever guide category was last being used/a program selected from - it should always open again into that same category of the guide. This is the simplest, most intuitive and desirable behavior, and would **automatically honor every user's desired category selection** without any additional digging/clicking through settings menus, adjacent columns, etc. Everybody's happy.
2). The guide must always open with the white highlight (cursor) directly on the channel/program currently being watched - not in any other column, such as the "category" column where the guide is currently (and unfortunately) opening. Again... period! This was the default guide behavior prior to this last unfavorable update, is by far the most appropriate, desirable behavior and should not have been changed, and a major reason driving the complaints in this thread.
These above two straightforward changes would satisfy the complaints here and streamline the overall useability of the current channel guide - making for a far more pleasant user experience than it is now. Simple!
