Screen Reader Won't turn off Annoying Voice

Streaming Stick 4K - Screen Reader will not turn off the annoying voice that speaks when you start up, change volume, etc.  Have set  Screen Reader to "off" but no change.  Yes, have tried the **** trick with no luck.  Have 5 streaming sticks and this new one is the only one that has this problem.

  • Check the Accessibility settings for your TV.  The stick wouldn't be announcing volume changes.

Can you please elaborate on what I am to be checking under the Accessibility settings?  I also have the stick and the volume and mute announcements only started yesterday 12/22/23,  Screen reader is turned off.  4 stars don't change anything. What to I need to change my Accessibility setting to?

Cindy317, it's not a Roku setting you're looking for; it's a TV setting (or possibly a soundbar setting if you're using one of those).  Use your TV's remote and go through its Accessibility settings.  I can't say what it will be called, but it should be fairly obvious.  You can also post the brand and model number of your TV so someone can look it up if you can't find it.
