Roku tv MAC address shows wifi hardware missing

This is very annoying problem with Roku. Try this trick:

  •  Turn off TV
  • Unplug TV from socket
  •  Press and hold power button on TV (located on bottom left/right) for 15 seconds 
  • Plug in TV back to socket
  • Power on TV

 This should fix the problem. Its called power reset on Roku

January 2025 and issue still is occurring. No resolution from Roku. ðŸ™„

I have performed all troubleshooting listed on Roku's website, even the last thread comment and nothing.

Who do I send Roku device specs to and the error id??

     Troubleshooting done

  • Modem/router reset multiple times
  • Enabled split wifi to allow 2.4 or whatever.
  • Manually updated driver via USB drive
  • Enabled network pings
  • Performed "reset" instructions from last thread comment

**My tv doesn't have ethernet port to connect ethernet cable**

 

My roku tv TCL isn't old, I've had it for almost 2 yrs or so. I have the same internet provider Xfinity when I first connected it. The only difference is I have set up a new account under a new name and I have a newer modem (white tower). See make and model below.

@Roku moderators if multiple customers who own different Roku branded Tv's report experiencing the same issue, why does Roku keep suggesting its the TV manufacturers fault?

    Faeraji, does your TV show "Wi-Fi hardware missing"?  If so, there is no fix short of taking apart the TV and fixing the hardware (which Roku didn't make).

    Faeraji Roku only licenses their operating system to TV manufacturers so that those brands/TVs can use the Roku OS. unless it is a ROKU brand TV, which is different than a brand that uses Roku.  Roku makes money by selling that license and the TV gets to use the OS with a Roku logo.   Roku does not control how those manufacturers make those TVs or have any control over the quality of the TVs being sold under those brand names.  Typically, budget level TVs cut corners on the quality of the hardware they use and/or the features that they have.
