The software on my Roco smart TV was updated in mid-December (or so). Since that time (I can only suspect), while watching live OTA Broadcast TV, the info screen pops up without prompting. (This is the portion of the screen at the bottom that has info about signal strength, current time, the name of the show current being watched, the plot synopsis, etc.) This happens about 90 seconds into a newly chosen channel and also about 90 seconds after a new show starts on the same channel. This is VERY annoying! I KNOW WHAT I'M WATCHING! ...;and if I don't, I can hit the "OK" on my remote and get this screen for myself.
Coupled with this problem........when I'm brousing through the channels for a show to watch, after some period of time -- before I'm through brousing -- it kicks me out of the channel brousing screen and back to the channel and show having been selected previously. This is EXTREMELY annoying! If I want to continue to brouse, I have to start all over again.

I have experienced the same thing. Glad it’s not just me. I have a RCA Roku TV. This happens on both ota and streaming live channels so doesn’t appear to be related to ota signal strength fluctuations.
Also my signal strength bar is 5 bars on many stations when it just used to be one. Weird.

Ditto for me on a TCL TV. Started happening right after the "update debacle" that occurred just last Jan 15/16 I think. Pushed an update that complete borked the TV, put it into a boot loop. Couldn't do anything until I did a complete reset, and had to set everything back up again.
Since that time, I've had this behavior

Thanks for responding. Hoping we can get more responses to bring this to the attention of Roku management.

Same here & this problem is very annoying! Been going on for about a month now for me. Problem happens on OTA and Roku Live TV channels/menus. I have two TCL Roku TVs which have the same exact problem. Info shows up without asking and takes me back to the channel I'm watching while browsing the channel guides/line ups. Otherwise, the channel info continues to show up without asking for it.
What is the fix or when can we expect a response from Roku?

Well, we continue to be at the top of the problem feed. Keep posting, and keep giving kudos. Maybe we'll get a response at some point.

Anyone from Roku out there? What good is Roku support and this website, if there is no response from Roku?

They don't actually answer, except to ask for serial numbers and model numbers. Then they go off and never actually provide you with anything useful.

its exactly 60 seconds I'm sure somehow someone thought this would be helpful.... ITS NOT! Does ANYONE have a clue how to undo this stupidity?

Same for me. TCL Roku TV. It is very annoying. I wish we could contact Roku support directly. This seems like it would be an easy fix for their developers. Roku TV

Anyone else experience pixels and judder on their screen with fast moving scenes after this last update? Never had this problem before the addition of LED Motion Clarity which helps some but degrades the picture. This even happens during COMMERCIALS. HEAR THAT MR. ADVERTISER? THE PRODUCT YOU PAID TO HAVE ADVERTISED IS MUDDLED AND UNCLEAR. I guess since that feature is included, they have messed with the feed rate of 480 which is annoying and typical.

C,mon Roku. I'm always singing the praises of the product/platform to anyone who cares to discuss with me. Can't you post something to at least acknowledge you are aware of the problem and looking into it?

Like you I believe it is a last update made in December that had a glitch which is now causing all of us to experience the same issue. It is not the marketing add popup that those responding with a solution is understanding. I feel we all need to contact Roku to address the issue with a new patch.

You know that small 'Promoted" bar in the channel guide line-up? Expect it to expand with video in the future. More **bleep** we don't need from the next screwupload.

EXACTLY!!! Thought about resetting to factory settings but with this post and the fact that other problems over the last couple of years have netted zero results to clear such problems, I'll be waiting for the next fix from Roku OS programmers.

Same. Not a marketing message There is a timeout period on the guide. Unwanted program info popup. Is this what Roku TV is like? It's a bad time.

This never use to happen and again since our last software update everyone appears to be experiencing the unwanted popups as well as menu partially show no information. This is pretty bad that everyone is experiencing this regardless what Roku tv the have and yet Roku is not doing anything to resolve the matter. I am now regretting that I purchased four TV's and they all have this new issue. It forces us not to want to watch regular TV programming or Roku menu programing and stick to Netflix or prime. The only solution I have not tried is the reset to original. And what happens when the TV goes through it's normal update process. Back to the problem at hand and now you have to readd and re log in to all your apps. Poor solution option.
