Philips RokuTV wont stop rebooting

I was trying to sign into Hulu when all of the sudden my TV cut off and entered a reboot loop. I've tried hard resetting it and everything but nothing has helped so far. Any suggestions?

  • Hi Liyaha1014,

Thank you for your prompt response!

We suggest you try the following details below:

    • Try to pull up different channels and see if the same issue occurs.
    • Check for updates by going through Settings > System > Software update > Check now
    • Restart your Roku TV by following these steps: Press Home on your Roku remote > Scroll and select Settings > Select System > Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step > Select System restart.

    Please keep us posted.

    Regards,

    Hi Liyaha1014,

    Welcome to the Roku Community!

We are glad to have you here sharing your concern about your Philips Roku TV that keeps on rebooting when you try to access your Hulu channel. No worries, we're here to assist you with this.

Before we proceed, could you clarify whether the issue occurred only when trying to access the Hulu channel or if it also happened when you tried to access other channels? Additionally, have you recently completed a software update before this issue occurred?

Providing these details will help us to look closely into the issue. We look forward to your response.

    Regards,
    Riamie

hi and thanks for reaching out. After I logged into Hulu, I tried to exit the app so that I could update my payment info but my TV immediately entered a bootloop once I got to the payment method screen. Also, I haven't updated my TV.

  • Throw it away. Philips Roku tvs are notorious for going out like that after a very short period of time. They used self destructive all in one boards that cannot be fixed, and the tv generally won't operate at all after a very short period of time. I had one that lasted about a week and went out on me. The one that replaced it went out after two weeks. They are disposable tvs only intended for a few hours of usage.

Roku won't admit their fail on that model of tv, only suggest that you do an update on a tv that is either in a boot loop, or won't stay on long enough to complete a setup.
