Need Alternative to Roku Media Player for Camping

I have an 8TB portable hard drive I hook up to our Roku while camping so the kids have some shows to watch (yes I know we are camping, this is usually for bed time routine where kids are exhausted, in a crying state and you need them to stick to inside the camper and go to bed), also rainy days.

    Unfortunately, that is the only media player available on a Roku. You could add a separate device. A Google TV device, like the Walmart Onn 4K Google TV is cheap, and runs Android, so there are tons of media players available, like VLC.
