CEC & ARC strange problem - Remote turns on TV, won't turn off
I have an Insignia TV and a Samsung soundbar. I know that the set up works through ARC because before setting up the Roku I had a Channel Master CM-7600. I easily connected the Channel Master using ARC and the IR on thier RF remote. It worked flawlessly, the remote communicating with the TV, soundbar, and the Channel master device.
The problem i have with the Roku is that the Roku remote can turn ON the Insignia TV, control the volume on the Samsung sound bar, but it will not turn OFF the TV. It seems the Roku may be transmitting the wrong signal. When everything is on, and pressing the remote power button, the TV indicates it's selecting the TV's HDMI input instead of powering off. Not sure how to set the configuration right. I would assume the Roku is not set correctly.
I was very difficult to set up the configuration on the Roku. It was extremely easy on the Channel Master. P I had difficulty finding the right IR code for the Roku remote to control the Insignia TV in which seemed to be required before using the CEC to control the Samsung soundbar.
(I can control the Insignia TV on / off and TV volume with the Roku remote in IR mode, but can't control the Samsung soundbar in this mode. If i set the Roku remote in CEC, I can control the volume on the soundbar, turn the TV on with the Roku remote power button, but it won't turn the TV off. - problem in a nutshell.)
Is there any way to troubleshoot this issue that the Roku won't turn off the TV?
