Are the stands supposed to be loose

Are the stands supposed to be loose the screws won’t go all the way in

  • What worked for me was to take just the screws, and screw them in to the base of the TV. When they had fully tightened up, I took them back out, placed the leg in and then put the screws in again. It worked, and the legs are nice & tight. Sometimes instructions are too vague, and a little Maine ingenuity & imagination helps make it all right. 😉

  • I just purchased the 50" roku TV from Best buy and the screws were unbelievably tight for the pre-drilled holes on the bottom of the TV. I ended up practically stripping all four screws just trying to tighten them enough to make the TV legs stable.

It feels like the manufacturer cheaped out on the screws and packaged ones with a slightly different spec

  • I just purchased mine today and are having the same issue

I got a neighbor to take care of mine for me and he admitted they were pretty tough.

      Hi Jus911,

Thanks for your first post here in the Roku Community!

We appreciate you for sharing this information with us, and we're interested to know more about how we can assist. Would you be so kind as to provide more information about the issue you're having? What stand are you referring to? In addition, what and where is the looseness specifically located? Furthermore, can you provide us with an image of the stand if possible?

We would value your response regarding this.

      All the best,
      Kash

Sure thanks for replying back.  I just purchased the Roku 32" TV from Best Buy on Sunday 8/13/23.  When I assembled the left and right legs to the bottom of the tv (this is what I'm referring to as the stand), the screws are in as far as they can go, but the the legs are wobbly, causing the TV to move back and forth.  It doesn't feel sturdy.  Unfortunately this post does not let me attach a picture file from my computer.  I could email it to you as well as a video showing the movement if you'd like

  • I know this is late, but hopefully it helps the next person. I was recently installing the legs on my 43” Roku TV and it seemed like the screws were fairly tight, yet the legs were still very loose. I didn’t want to force them any further with everything being plastic. Eventually I just went for it and continued to tighten the screws even though it felt like it would be harmful. I hit a hard stop and the legs were tight. Basically, you have to keep going until you hit a hard stop. The screw will feel very tight the whole way. All 4 screws were the same way.

This isn't true. I've had this tv for years and it's still the same. It doesn't take a genius to screw them in until they are tight and won't go any further. Even after hitting a hard stop and they seem to be in there all the way when you finish the legs are still wobbly. It's almost like the screws are too short not allowing it to stay flat to the tv. I think this is the issue everyone here is having. I decided to bring my tv to the family room so that I could enjoy the apps on it but unfortunately, I need to sit it on a tv stand but it keeps leaning. Looks like the leg is now cracked from the tv wobbling in the past. I guess the only option is to get longer screws or spend money to mount it to the wall or a tv stand where I can mount it.

Mijilly14 or @RikyDoky, can you share the solution again?  I see everyone asking the question but don't see any responses to the questions.  I am having the same problem.

        Thank you!

I'm having the same problem. Cannot get the screws all the way in. Seems if they were forced any further, there might be cracking

seriously ROKU?  how much additional information do you need to answer the questions regarding the difficulty installing the legs of the tv stands?  the same issue has been posted SEVERAL times in this thread, and you just keep asking for "more information".  What is wrong with you???? What additional information could there possibly  be?  You are masters of avoidance.

You said it accurately. They are the masters of avoidance. Ridiculous.

  • We got new roku tv. Same problem but ?

Screws are funny enough to big ! My partner couldn't get them to go tight, so he put 2 small rings on all screws and it went in without problem, tv very sturdy now on the stand. Legs.

You need to take screws out ok and then go ahead and screw back in . It will fix itself by doing this !!

Thank you, we tried that. The screws go in only so far and we can't get them in any further. We keep taking them out and screwing them back in and they still won't go in all the way.

I solved the problem.  I used my drill to predrill the holes.   I tested the screws in each one after predrilling.  Then I attached the base and screwed the screws in tightly.  It is now fine.  Zero wobbles.
