Smart Plugs not responding to Smart Home app

I have had two smart plugs and they have been working flawlessly for about 8 months, but now they are unresponsive to the app commands. I have reconnected them, factory reset them, deleted and reinstalled app and rebooted all internet equipment. It seems it will work for about a day or two and then go out again. Then I repeat the whole process and get another two days! From previous comments, this seems like a systemic app problem. Does anyone have more info on what is happening?

  • Hi Beenz,

    Greetings.

Looks like your Roku smart plugs aren't responding. Give these troubleshooting steps a shot.

    1. Confirm that your Roku Smart Home app and outdoor plug firmware are current.
    2. Make sure the outdoor plug is powered on.
      • Is there a status light?
      • If not, try plugging into a different outlet.
      • Is the outlet a GFCI receptacle? Has the receptacle been reset?
        • GFCI - Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter
        • These outlets can be found in bathrooms and kitchens.
    3. Confirm the plug is showing as online in the Roku Smart Home app.
    4. Confirm that Alexa or Google Assistant is linked to the customer's Roku account.
      • Another way to check is if other Roku Smart Home devices respond to voice commands.

Hope this info helps! Keep me posted.
