what you could do is to use roChannelStore.DoUpgrade(). If it works as i imagine, the pvt channel should be able to "up-sell" the users to the public one (free as it is) and if they download it, the pvt one will "magically" be deleted.
Have never tried it, nor to be honest have seen someone do it that way - but when RTFM, it seems to be exactly for cases like this! In theory. Someone Roku, please correct me.
PS. and of course it depends how many users were there on the pvt one in the first place, if worth the botheration
