Pairing with Roku streaming stick and older Sharp Aquos TV

Just replaced my streaming stick as the previous one broke.  I was able to control my TV on and off and volume with the previous Roku remote.  This one doesn't work.  I followed the steps in the setup and check the settings on my TV - they were set correctly.  I am missing something??

    I understand you're having trouble setting up your remote to control your TV's volume and power. Please try this. Go to: Home > Settings > System > Power > System Restart. Once your device restarts, try setting up the remote again.
