TCL GoggleTV closed captions on Roku App

Same question (sorta) -  I just can’t turn captions ON.  Like the original poster, I can see Captions Styles, but nothing that turns captions on and off.  Also nothing that says “Accessibility.” ...

Thanks for posting this! Just checking—do you have a Roku device connected to your TV? If you do, I can share how to quickly turn the captions on and off.

Here's how: 

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. To open the Captions menu, select Accessibility. If Accessibility is not listed, select Captions.
  4. Select Captions mode and choose when captions appear
    • Off–captions never appear
    • On always – captions always appear (when available from the service provider). When service providers use their settings, closed captions are activated within their channels.
