Screen Mirror on Windows 11 Laptop

Hi Folks.

I want to view laptop videos on the big (i.e. Roku) screen. Is Screen Mirroring the only way? If so, how do I screen mirror a Win 11 system onto my Roku wirelessly. If not wirelessly, then how could I do it using a network cable? And, as a las resort, is there another way (e.g. HDMI cable)?

Thanks.

Thanks for keeping us posted, c0uchP0tat0

Yes, you can change the name of your Roku TV. You can do this either through your Roku account on the Roku website or by using the Roku mobile app. Changing the name is helpful for distinguishing between multiple Roku devices, particularly when using features like AirPlay or screen mirroring.

Thanks for reaching out to us about this.

We will be more than happy to assist you further. Use the following steps to connect your Windows 11 computer to your Roku streaming device and start screen mirroring.

    1. On your computer keyboard, press Win + to open Quick Settings
    2. Click Connect to a wireless display
    3. Select your Roku device from the list of wireless display devices to start the connection
    4. Follow the instructions on your Roku device to allow screen mirroring

If you have issues connecting to a wireless display on your Windows device, contact Microsoft support for help.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks. Apparently all my neighbors also own Roku TVs and there's no way to distinguish them in the Win+K list. But once I selected the right one, it worked smoothly.

Side question: Is there a way to give my TV a name, so I recognize it in that list?

This one (https://community.roku.com/discussions/apps-and-viewing/screen-mirror-on-windows-11-laptop/1081485/replies/1081517) should be marked as the solution to my original question.
