Every time we turn on our TV now, Roku either decides to randomly install a new app or launches an app on its own and picks a show or movie and starts it.
We are just hitting the power button and then watching all this happen.
There is usually 5 or 10 seconds where a menu will give us a chance to cancel the install.
Currently, it has Vix, XITE and Backdrops installed. All from within the last few days.

Did this also happen when you took the batteries out of the Roku remote? If you haven't done it yet, try removing them after you turn the TV on and see if the problem still happens.
The remote might be sending some signals to the device, which could be why apps are opening up on their own.

It's still occurring. Twice now we've turned to Roku and no screen loads. Had to unplug.
