• Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
• Does this issue occur on a specific channel? If so, what channel and what version or build is the channel? (This can be found by selecting the channel on the home screen and pressing the * button.)
• Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID).
• Steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing

I also have a Roku Express and I just started having the same issues. I had the Roku Express for approximately 2 years and never had this problem until now. I would love to know how to resolve this issue

We understand that you are having an issue with Roku Express crashing to the home screen. We will work with you to know what went wrong so we can assist you further and fix the issue but we need more details.
Here are a few questions here to better understand what you're experiencing:
- When did this issue first start occurring?
- Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or all channels on your Roku device?
- How are you powering the Roku device?
- Have you tried plugging the Roku device into a different HDMI port on your TV or a different TV, just to test and isolate the issue?
- Can you please specify the exact steps you are taking to reproduce this issue?

Ugh this is disheartening...I was really hopi
ng for a solution to this mess considering I just bought 4 roku tvs to furnish our new house and they ALL have the same issue. 1 to 5 mins into watching and goes to home screen. Total waste of over a thousand dollars.

3 tvs 2 of which are Roku tvs. Happens on live tv Hulu and streaming like Discovery +. I will be calling support. Sounds like you don’t have a solution. If not, I have one that involves canceling service.

Hi Roku Community users,
Thanks for the posts regarding the issue you are experiencing with your Roku device returning to the Home screen.
If you are experiencing this issue on a Roku Streaming Stick, Roku Express, or Roku Premiere device, we highly recommend making sure your Roku device is plugged into a wall outlet instead of through the TV USB port as sometimes the TV does not provide adequate power to the device.
If you are still experiencing an issue, can you please provide us with the following information:
- Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
- does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
- are you watching specific content when this issue occurs? Live TV content or VOD (video on demand)?
- tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times and provide us with this ID)
- steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
Once we have this information, we will be able to pass it along to the appropriate Roku team to investigate further.

I have a Roku TV TCL and After all the troubleshooting steps it keeps kicking me out of every app and looping me back to the home screen. I even reset my home modem and router, and did everything else Roku suggests. Everything else I own is working fine. The ROKU just continues to kick me out and takes me to the home screen .I have done every solution listed and still it keeps doing this. HELP

When did you start seeing the issue occur? What are the steps to reproduce the issue? Have you tried using an alternative network, such as a mobile hotspot or an Ethernet cable, to see if you are still getting the same issue?

It's plugged into a wall outlet, it's Hulu Live content and it is while watching CBS local channel for me for others on the forum it's other channels and it goes back to home screen on programming change on the half hr or hour depending on the program you are viewing.

I am also having this issue. My Roku device keeps resetting and it has been happening now for a couple weeks. It’s really frustrating since we have trouble watching tv sometimes. It happens when using different apps so it’s just not an issue with an app. My device resets when using an app, trying to check latest software update, etc.

I threw my tv in a dumpster cut your losses Romu doesn’t care never buy their tv again. It will cut the frustration forever.
