Roku and Prime Video - Amazon Originals Only Play In Spanish

I've been struggling with this for a while, but Amazon Originals (like Reacher, Bosch, etc.) only play in Spanish... despite both Roku and Prime Video settings are set to English.   Other Prime Vide...

While playing the Prime video on your Roku:

  • Press down-arrow to bring up Prime's on-screen controls, and again to go to the lower row.
  • Go right to the Audio options and click on it.
  • Click on your choice of language.

This answer does not work. Changing language settings does not change the Reacher show being in Spanish.

 

Is Roku broken? Why don't they fix the issue?

    Welcome to the Roku Community!

    Thanks for bringing to our attention that the Amazon Originals on the Prime Video channel plays in Spanish. We would like to coordinate this with our Roku team for review.

    Before proceeding, we would like to know if this occurs in all movies and TV shows within Amazon Originals.

    We would like to know the following information to help us investigate the issue further:

    • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and OS version and build. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
    • Tracker ID (press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
    • Channel build version (highlight the channel and press the star (*) button of your Roku remote)

      Issue started recently, other amazon shows that I checked are ok but Reacher is in spanish. Unknown if more shows than Reacher are affected.

      Settings > System > About: 40s355, h102x, x02000h8k270, 14.1, soj2d2d8k270

      build 7709-dd

      GC version: 13.0.16

        Thank you for sharing the information about your Roku device. Is the issue you’re experiencing specific to the Reacher TV series on Amazon Originals, or are other TV series and movies within Amazon Originals also affected? Additionally, have you attempted to watch this content on a non-Roku device?

    Are you sure you are selecting "Audio Options" as mentioned by makaiguy ?  It is all the way to the right in the overlay menu.  Do not select "Language" from Subtitles/CC. (this is for text).

    Reacher is playing in English fine on my Roku devices using Prime Video.
