Picture quality looks grainy and lots of banding

I've had Roku for a while, and though I like the idea of it, the image quality is horrible. Lots of banding, noise, grain. It doesn't look like HD. I'm using wifi, the signal strength is excellent ...

Excellent signal strength is good, but what about the speed? If you don't consistently see around 6-8mbps or higher, then HD will suffer. Also what apps and shows are you viewing? There are some apps showing old shows from when everything was SD, and there are even some apps which look like some guy's VHS tape collection.

    Internet speed is also excellent.
