"not compatible with this signal" ultra device

I get the boot up menu with the Roku flashing at the beginning  then flashs a green screen and then it says me that it's "not compatible with the signal"  I have no idea what's wrong.  It was workin...

    Sunflowerz, no, you need a TV.  There aren't many, if any, laptops that have an HDMI input.

Still not working... How can I tell if the Roku has gone bad?.... Is there a way to test it on a laptop?

Sunflowerz, no, you need a TV.  There aren't many, if any, laptops that have an HDMI input.
