Multiple apps go black screen

I've had ROKU for about 4 months and everything was working fine except the remote died after 3 months.  As of a couple nights ago ROKU stopped streaming shows. I can power the TV on/off, cursor to a streaming service, select a show but once I select the show, my TV goes black.  

I have spent several hours trying to get help from ROKU but they basically told me they need to escalate to engineering.  Not sure if I'll hear back from them on this issue so I'm basically without a TV.

I've done all the power surging and resetting on the roku device and even my TV (Sony Bravia KLV-S26A10) but nothing is resolving this issue.
